See map below: Turn left out the BnB driveway. After about 600 m - turn right onto a small road - this is two way traffic so carefully make your way all the way down the hill, bearing right, and ending at the pier. Park and cross the beaches to the cemetery and Ahamore Abbey 6-9th century ruins. Take your time.

To visit Derrynane House and the wonderful Ahamore Tea Room, retrace to the intersection and park in the main parking lot. Follow the paths leading to the beach, Daniel O'Connell House, Ahamore Tea Room and visit the beautiful gardens.

The Derrynane Loop Walk is a moderate 6-9 km loop walking route around Derrynane National Park near Caherdaniel, Co Kerry. This walking route follows some of the Mass Path old pilgrimage route and the Kerry Way and passes through the hillside woodland above the Derrynane Blue Flag Beach and Derrynane House.

Give yourself at least 3 hours to take it all in - including a stop at Ahamore Tea Room. All right from Thidwick BnB's doorstep.
You can easily do it in 1.5 hours as exercise, as my husband, Dezy, does many times a week.
